Cool Club

My sister Brittany is the founder of the "Cool Club" with our children, and you have to be initiated to get into the Cool Club. The only thing is you don't want to know what the actual way is to get initiated but I'll tell you anyway!!! So Brittany had Vanessa, Chandler, and Caleb McFarland go up to someone they kinda knew but not too well and hold out a tampon and say here is a hot dog!!! NICE Brittany!
So Brittany had a Cool Club sleep over with Vanessa & Chandler last Sunday night (Sorry Caleb), it was quite fun...our power had gone out for about 4 hours so we had to get a little creative!!! We had a roast dinner by candlelight, sang and had fun and when the power went on we all screamed "WAHOO", then we ended the night by watching Nim's Island. We had a blast!

6 going on 16!!!

I took this picture of Vanessa at our friend's wedding reception and immediately Dave said Vanessa looks older than she is...I don't know maybe it is how I do her hair? I do know that she is already trying to butt heads with me, but I try and veer away from that. She knows meanings to big words that I didn't know at her age, so maybe this generation could be really smart or maybe it's all in the Prenatal care?

Kindergarten

Vanessa started Kindergarten at Sprucewood Elementary! She met her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Broderick, on Monday the 25th of August!!! She started school the very next day! Vanessa's goes to afternoon kindergarten! Chandler goes to morning preschool, so I am driving back and forth a whole lot, but I figured it would be nice for them to miss each other, so maybe they can get along better? Vanessa could have gone to Kindergarten last year because she is already 6 and her birthday is in August but we felt it would be best for her to be the oldest one in class. Vanessa is already making new friends and loving her school!

Luck

So we have been struck with just a little bit of bad luck (and maybe luck if you think of it that way) the past few weeks, it's been a little crazy! The worst of it was when Dave's grandmother passed away. On our way down to the funeral in Blanding, Utah...Dave's brother, Ben and his wife Lenora and their two children got in a car accident. They were all fine, but the car was not drivable!! Luckily, Tim and his wife were 30 minutes behind Ben, along with Dave and I, so that we could pick up their family and divide them into our two cars. LUCK!!!

Luckily, we didn't go to California because our front door got jammed (bad luck) and if we would have gone on our vacation, then the neighbors would have not been able to get to our dogs to feed them! LUCK...we ended up being home to find this out and realize that we needed a whole new door!

Because we didn't go to Disneyland (we went to the funeral) the children didn't quite understand why they couldn't go on the vacation so we decided to go to Lagoon instead on August 23rd... BAD LUCK... Vanessa woke up throwing up all over!!!

Once more a BAD case of BAD LUCK... Today we were getting ready for family pictures (our little family) and I was getting excited about our cute colors (orange and brown) and how cute the kids were going to look and such....then David jinxed us!!! He said a comment on how we didn't get overly high strung about our children getting hurt on their faces this time around and how none of them had any owies etc. Pssh!!! He shouldn't of said that, right after he did... Vanessa comes running up the stairs and bawling her eyes out saying Ramseys had scratched her, he scratched her from her eyelid over her eye...LUCK!!! Her eye didn't get hurt!!!.... and all the way down her cheek to her chin, Bright RED! (Ramseys has never done this before!!) Oh I was freaking out then! But I felt like we should wait it out before we canceled anything. So I did put make-up over her massive scratch and it looked better but it was still there, but our photographer said she could Photoshop it out!

Anway, through all of our OFF days, we still are here and are happy!!! We got through it and we are very thankful for the trials we do have that make us better people....

Sick & Wrong but I had to Post!

Sick & Wrong! But you know I don't think Ashton really knows what he is doing, and I am not a mom who likes to allow this behavior, it is just po-nasty! But it is hilarious too! Ashton's face makes me crack up laughing!

Ramseys the Great

Here is just a little update of what Ramseys looks like these days. He is now over 9 months old and about 90 lbs. He eats 7 1/2 cups of dog food a day now. And he'll probably keep on growing!
