Hair

I didn't realize how many hairstyles I have had!!!! Some are just slight changes and others are drastic! My favorites would have to be the first one, second, fifth (the longest I have ever had my hair, look closely!), thirteenth and the very last one!

Copper mine

Chandler's first field trip in Preschool was to the Copper mine, he was so EXCITED!!! We had lots of fun, but the trip ended with tears and screaming at me because I wouldn't buy any toys at the Gift Shop!!! Every time we go to those gift shops, I CRINGE!!! So now I am going to advoid them at all costs!!!! I seriously had to count 1-2-3 to Vanessa because she was crying like a BANSHEE in the gift store, everyone was looking at me like I was evil but seriously you think I am going to spoil my kids so they never learn anything? I do time-outs in stores too! Other than the scene in the Gift shop we had fun! LOL!

An interesting fact about the Copper mine trucks:
Each tire is $30,000 and it takes 8 hours to replace a tire!!!!!

Humming...

I have always wondered if I talk in my sleep or do anything funny while I sleep, but Dave always tells me no I don't do anything out of the ordinary. But then Dave came up to me today and "HAD" to tell me the funniest thing!!! He told me that Vanessa was having a hard time sleeping last night and he went to go lay by her and after a while he came back to our bed and when he entered the room I was humming away at some song!!!! I wish I could remember what I was dreaming about!!! But I thought it was so hilarious!!!

18 months old

My little Ashton is growing up!!! He is now just a little over 18 months old and I thought I would do a little update on his progress. Ashton is a laid back little boy, although if his sister or brother takes a toy away from him he won't put up with it and all of a sudden you'll find him charging after them. So I have to work with him a little more in that area. He has clobbered a few little kids and I feel very bad when that happens. Ashton already gets Time-outs, except part of me wonders if he understands, I explain it to him but he doesn't talk much. Ashton loves to say "HI" to everyone who passes him by at any store, it is his favorite word now...which is totally funny because he has a hint of shyness to him. He loves to make dog and cat sounds. Today Ashton was helping me put clothes into our washing machine and I heard him say something close to "Sponge bob", I looked over and he had Chandler's Spongebob pillow case in his hands, it was so cute! But he is so content with himself he doesn't care to talk, in fact he just learned to walk over a month ago. He has been my only child who is ambidextrous in getting around: Bum Skooting, normal crawling (our first child who actually did this!), the monkey crawl, and walking! He loves to follow Chanman around, Chandler will go hide and Ashton will get a kick out of finding him. I think he thinks Vanessa is a big person, because Vanessa will be sitting on the floor and all of a sudden Ashton will be sitting on her, he reallly LOVES Vanessa!!! He has been an easy child so far, and we LOVE that he is part of our family!!!

I forgot to mention that Ashton is a singer, he's always humming or attempting to sing a song. He also is officially in the Nursery!!!! He tested out two Sundays before his actual official day to see how he'd do, and he did AWESOME!!!! He didn't cry...he just went in the room and started playing and was fine when we left him there!

I posted this on my other blog but....

I wanted everyone to get a chance to see what I did to my ol' yellow mustard yucky cabinets!!!! I couldn't stand them any longer and Dave is going to eventually make our cabinets, natural cherry wood, when he is done with our other projects (salon/office, bathroom) but for now I need something sweeter on the EYES!

Stranded

Dave has been gone since Saturday morning for a business trip!!! Yesterday he was suppose to come home at 7 p.m. but called me and said he got an earlier flight and would be at the airport at 4 p.m. The kids and I were soooo excited that would be getting him that much earlier, so after we picked Vanessa up from school we headed out to the airport. We got there about 10 minutes early and had to sit at the Park & Wait until Dave called. When Dave called I turned the key in the ignition and all I heard was a Clicking sound!!!! Are you kidding me? The life of our battery in our 2 year old SUV was DEAD!!! Dave had to walk all the way to the Park & Wait (a long way) and he asked a bunch of people who were waiting in their cars if they had jumper cables, FINALLY we found someone who did...apparently people don't have jumper cables any more because all of their cars are nice and new!!! So we connected everything up correctly and NOTHING HAPPENED, so the battery was just BAD, we thanked the lady for her help and called a TOW TRUCK!!! Dave's dad Joe had to come pick us up and take us home, illegally because our family of five had to squish into Joe's standard car. We DO get to pick up our SUV today, the battery just had to be replaced, and I knew it couldn't be anything worse, it is almost a brand new car still!!!

Chanman, Me and illegal Vanessa LOL (Ashton is on the other side of Chanman, Dave in the front with Joe)

Scrabble

My sister Britt and I have been playing Scrabble together lately and it has been FUN!!! It has been such a great stress reliever too!!! She spent time with me while Dave was on a business trip...Thanks for keeping me company Brittany!!! This game was tough, that's why we are pulling faces!!! LOL

They DO fit me!

Chandler was looking for some pants to wear and then found these skorts and didn't realize it was a girly skirt until after he put them on and had said his funny remark!

Glass House pictures of 2008

We used an AWESOME photographer for our 2008 family photos!!!! It's a whole different style than we have used in the past, and I totally love it!!! I can't post all of the pictures since there are so many and I'd like to use some for a rainy day, but here are a few that I LOVE!

Almost forgot....

I totally forgot to post this!!!! We had our family pictures taken through Raquel Wilbur Photography and the location was near some old buildings and the train tracks in Lehi for an Urban look. Anyway, to get up and down the tracks there was a pretty steep hill to climb, of course as I was holding Ashton and me and my clod-hoppers (big shoes) were attempting to go down the hill, I lost my balance and as I was falling my hand went out to save us!!! Well I didn't realize it until two days later that my wrist was in massive pain, if I bent it at all it would really hurt!!! My life is so busy with three kids that I don't ever have the time to think about myself!!! So I went to my usual chiropractic appointment (doing hair really messes up my body!) and found out I had sprained my wrist!!! Usually, my reaction would have been a little more negative and I would be upset but all I could do was laugh! Except I had to wear a brace for a week and a half!!!!! So here is a pic of me and my wrist brace!

Tagged by Julie

I've been tagged! The Rules are... tell about 6 quirks of yours and then Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same, be sure to leave a comment to let them know.

1. I have to wear gloves when I clean: Especially When I do the Dishes and the toilet!!! Some neighbor said the other day, "Oh your one of those people!" LOL!!! What does that mean?

2. I have the first calling in my ward that I have ever really enjoyed!: I am the song leader in our ward, and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I am always prepared (that's a first in any calling!) and I love to teach the kids the Primary songs!!! I am not perfect yet, I am still learning little things that can help the kids memorize, but I am one of the FUNNEST song leaders EVER!!! I have all these fun ways to learn songs and it seems like the kids really enjoy them!!! I really hope I get to keep this calling for 5 years or more!!!!

3. Keep me full or else...: I am usually a happy person, but if I don't keep myself full (not full to bloated though) or well rested I can be an irritable person!!!

4. I love to read: Reading hasn't always been on my top list until this year! The book Twilight has helped me get into a habit of reading. I love to read just right before bed, it helps me get tired enough to fall into a DEEP sleep!!! Which I do have problems sleeping and it seems reading has done away with that. I haven't found another awesome book to ready lately so if anyone has any ideas, let me know!!! Lately, I have been reading through the whole Ensign, which is definitely helping strengthen my testimony!!!

5. I like things MY way: I struggle with this too, it goes along with me being a perfectionist!!! One time I let Dave use my vacuum and what does he do? He runs over some object that destroys the vacuum and ruins my faith in him to vacuum the house! I have certain ways of folding the laundry, everything I do has a certain way I do it, so I end up doing too much. I even mow the lawn! Then I get put off at times and procrastinate some household duties!

6. I love dogs but...: I love animals, especially dogs, and yes I have two dogs, but my patience wears thin with them at times!!! It's like a catch 22 almost...I can't stand them shedding their hair but I love them, I can't stand them chewing on my cords outside and making the Direct TV charge us $75 to come out and fix what they destroyed but I am awesome at teaching them commands? I love my dogs but I can't stand the water coming down on my hardwood floor after they take a drink...I love my dogs but I hate the litter box !(For those who were wondering TiKa my lil' chihuahua is trained to go potty in a litter box, the big dog goes to the bathroom outside) But I love my dogs and I DEAL with it, I deal with their quirks. They are still in the puppy stage so they'll eventually get over their quirks, until then I'll just deal with it!

I hope you had fun reading about my quirks!

I tag Monica & Corey, Tracy, Jessica, & Stephanie.

Vanessa's Birthday party

TWO hours before Vanessa's birthday party, she decided to really "horse around" in the shower and fell on the porcelain tub and split open her chin!!! There was NO DOUBT that Nessa needed stitches!!! Even though it was bad timing, I was really amazed at how well I handled the situation without Dave around!!! In fact, Vanessa was the one who was "freaking out"!!! I called Dave (he was doing errands for the party) to come and get Vanessa to go get her stitches. He later told me that when it was time for the Doctor to sew her chin up that Vanessa started freaking out even more so they had to wrap her up like a "MUMMY" in order to keep her from moving!!! Vanessa received 5 stitches! But after she was sewn up, Vanessa let us know that it really didn't hurt after all!!! LOL

Vanessa arrived at her party a few minutes before all her friends showed up, we were very lucky that she was able to get taken care of so quickly at the Insta-care. I was very lucky that I had almost everything ready for the party the night before!

We had PIZZA, cake and Ice-cream. We had a huge surprise for Vanessa and her friends and some family!!! (We tried to make the party more of a friend party for Vanessa) We had a REAL mini-horse and eight other animals show up in our backyard for some REAL horsing-around!!!! We LOVED our experience with "Wild Things".

Thank you to all those who gave Vanessa gifts, she was definitely spoiled!
