Cosmetologists Reunited

Tuesday, August 21st, my sister-in-law, Melissa and I went to our friend, Shay's bridal shower! We were both excited to see her since it had been a long time! We all met at Cosmetology school and became really good friends! Then Shay moved out to the Virginia area for her job and we have been missing her ever since! It was a fun reunion, and we are really excited that Shay met a great guy to marry!

The Zoo

On Thursday, August 23rd, we went with my friend in our ward, Isabelle, and her two children, Gwen and Samuel to the Zoo! Isabelle has a membership and treated us to a fun-filled day at the Zoo. It was really fun going with them, we really enjoyed it! I think it was especially fun for Vanessa and Chandler to have friends to go with them there. We went earlier in the morning and it really paid off, because we saw more animals out and about than we ever have seen before! It was an enjoyable day!

Family Party

So after Vanessa's big friend birthday party, we had a family party later that same day at 7 p.m. We had Dave's and my side of the family come to the party. We had fun socializing and watching Vanessa open more presents to spoil her even more! We had cake and ice-cream and we all had some fun. Every time someone says something funny or embarrassing on the Frisby side we always say "oooOOOooooooh" really loud, the Glass side joined in and it made it that much more fun!

All the boys in our family!

All the girls in our family, as you can tell Vanessa is the only little one.

Little Mermaid Birthday Party!

On Saturday, August 18th, Vanessa had a friend birthday party from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.!!! Apparently, I was nuts for having twelve kids at our house for three hours! It was a lot of work but we did have fun! We covered the playroom with paper and had the kids finger paint the walls, they really had fun with that. Then we had a water balloon fight, opened gifts, ate ice-cream and had fun swinging a broom stick at the pinata! Vanessa and all of her friends really enjoyed the birthday party!

Happy Birthday to My Little Butterfly!

Our little Vanessa bug's birthday was today! She was born on a Wednesday five years ago at 10:28 a.m., she was my easiest delivery and easiest pregnancy!!!!! Maybe that's because Heavenly Father knew she'd be three children-in-one when she got older! Dave and I surprised Vanessa with breakfast in bed, it was something she has been asking for for a long time. We made pancakes, eggs, and bacon with orange juice. When we brought it up to her, her face said it all, she was very pleased with us and she loved the surprise. We didn't get to do too much today because I am still sick but she did get to open all of her presents from us! She got a hello kitty jewelry box that she had asked for, notepad, colored pencils, hello kitty pens, a princess flashlight, flower flip-flops, white & pink shoes, two pairs of pajamas, khaki pants, and a cute top. We love shopping for our kids!!!

My Kiki?

You may ask what is a Kiki? Well, when I was a little girl I had a favorite blanket that had "suckies" and I called my blanket a Kiki as I enjoyed sucking my thumb. I also called my bottle a loo-loo, don't ask me where I came up with these names I have no clue! I don't think my children will have problems sucking their thumbs, they are too into binky's. But Ashton loves his blankey! The way I get him to sleep is to throw a blanket over his head after I put him in his carseat or bassinet and then after he falls asleep all by himself I will then uncover his head so he can breathe better. Kids are so funny, they all have their little things they do that are just so cute!

A-line Success

I love doing Melissa's hair because she loves to try new things! This time we colored it and the next day she came back to get an A-line haircut! She absolutely loved it!

Before

After

5 months old!!!!

Today Ashton and I celebrated him turning 5 months old being sick! Ashton got sick first and when a baby gets sick it is the hardest thing to deal with. A baby just can't help himself so I am there up all night when he is suffering the discomfort of a bad cold. It takes double the time for a little baby to heal from a sickness and pretty much it's seems like the whole family is sick when a child gets sick! Your heart feels so bad for them! Poor little boy! So I tried so hard not to get sick as I was taking care of little Ashton but I failed and now I have the terrible cold! So I have been trying to fight it off and worry about little Ashton as well! We took him to the doctor two different times to see if he is okay and that he has nothing serious. While we were there the first time we weighed him and he was 14 lbs. 7 oz. and the the second time we took him into the doctor he gained some weight and is now 14 lbs. 10 oz. which is so amazing to me because Vanessa was only 16 lbs. at a year old! The doctor said to keep an eye on poor Ashton and to try and fight the cold without antibiotics, but it's been two weeks now and he is still sick! I sure hope that he gets better in the next few days! I have had the worst cold ever for a long time! I have been trying to keep away from my other kids and husband so they won't get it. (fingers crossed)

Ashton now is grasping toys and fixating hard on his hands and how they work. He also discovered his thumb! Hopefully it's only a phase and not the beginning of thumb-sucking, even though it's so cute to see. He is a very happy baby even though he is sick, he reminds me a lot of Chandler in this aspect. He knows his family very well, he loves to watch Vanessa and Chandler run around. He is very interested in watching the dogs play, especially TiKa...maybe it's because her coloring is distinct. Here are some pictures of Ashton....

Great Advice: If you don't know already and are sick always keep away from others, especially little children for it is harder for them to overcome sickness.

What is this stuff?

On July 19th we had Ashton try his first taste of rice cereal. He being 4 months old wasn't quite sure what to do with his mouthful of cereal. He didn't know that he had to swallow it so most of it found its way back out of his mouth. With a little more practice I am sure someday he won't let me put it down!
