On Thursday, May 10th we went to the children's garden at Thanksgiving point for Vanessa's monthly field trip that her school puts on. Each adult is in charge of a group of kids, so I had to keep an eye on Vanessa, her friend Lexi, Chandler and baby Ashton. I didn't realize what a responsiblity it was to keep track of that many kids, especially when Vanessa kept running off with Lexi!
The first event was the Noah's ark; it had shallow water for the kids to play in all around the ark. Every once in awhile the Elephant on top of the ark would spit out water from it's trunk to get the kids wet. Vanessa immediately took her shoes off and ran around in the water. Chandler, a more timid and shy little boy, took about 10 minutes to
warm up and finally he walked around in the water. They really enjoyed the Noah's ark; I think it was their favorite one! Then we were off to the Bear caves. You could hear recorded sounds of bears growling as you made your way through dark tunnels! The tunnels really made me work to keep the kids together because t
here were about three or four different openings where the kids could go in and out, which made it hard to keep tabs on them! The also had a pretty eco-pond to look at and right after the pond was a fun kid-s
ized light house. They spent a good amount of time playing inside the light house, going up the ladder to reach the top and peer out the windows. The last event was the caterpillar that you could climb inside of and play on. After all the events we headed back to the Noah's ark to play there "one last time", but as we were walking back, Chandler decided to give me a scare and hide
in a hedge so I couldn't find him. We had all the children yelling, "Chandler", and since he is such a quiet boy, it makes it that much harder to find him. We finally found him in the hedge and he was just playing by himself and not aware that he was lost. We had fun playing in the water again and then we headed home and stopped by Arctic Circle for some hamburgers and the kids really enjoyed the field trip!
